Life is bigger and freer than it sometimes feels.

Not running away from anything. Just remembering that the schedule isn't the whole story.

Day to day, life runs on times: work, school runs, deliveries, things that need doing when they need doing. On the road there's still all of that in some form, with family, a dog, meals and miles. But the day loosens up, and you remember you still have choices.

Have a plan, but don't become a slave to it.

We plan, because a good plan gets you to the good places. But if there's a sunset on the ridge, we stop. If somewhere feels special, we make coffee and stay for a while. If something unexpected looks worth it, the plan changes. The work and the to-do list will still be there next week. That moment won't be.

Who comes along

It changes. Sometimes it's just me. Often it's my daughter, my partner and the dog. Sometimes friends and family join in, and sometimes it's a whole convoy. The vehicles change too: right now it'sMammoth and Ruby.

Sit up front

This isn't an overlanding tutorial. It's the journey as it happens: the awe, the calm, the tension, the humour, the things that go wrong, and the ordinary bits in between that make it what it is.

The kit

The gear in the shop is designed, built and sold by Truck Life Solutions Ltd. It's what we use ourselves, built to order. You'll see it on trips because it's there, not because the video is an advert.
